Textured Vegetable Protein (TVP) is an excellent substitute for ground beef. Some people experience gas after eating TVP. This recipe minimizes gas in most people.

Boil 1-1/3 cups of water.
Place dry TVP into a bowl.
1-3/4 cups TVP
Pour boiling water over TVP.
Let sit for 10 minutes.
Drain and squeeze TVP to extract more water.
Rinse the TVP again and then use the TVP as a substitute for ground beef.
