Allow steak to rest at room temperature for 30 minutes. Remove the steak from their packaging and pat dry with paper towels.
12 oz Top sirloin steak
Melt butter in a small saucepan over medium-low heat.

Stir in minced garlic and garlic powder. Set aside.

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. At the same time, preheat the skillet on the stove top over medium-high heat.
Season both sides of the steak with salt and pepper
Once the oven is just a few minutes away from being preheated, add some butter to the skillet and heat until melted. Add the steak. Sear, without moving around, until a brown crust forms on the bottom. Flip and sear on the other side.

Transfer steaks to warmed plates; brush the tops liberally with garlic butter.
