Meredith saw a Spotted Salander. They live underground and are not often seen. Spotted Salamanders secrete a poisonous liquid through their skin when upset.

The fawns are becoming more comfortable and less skittish. The fawns meet my brother and sister-in-law at the barn like the adults and hang out in the round pen for the horses.

They were having some fun. These guys don’t mind sharing their space. Well, except for those scary squirrels!

First new Fawn of the year, only a few days old.  All the does are very attentive and watchful.

The two mothers are permanent residents. Sometimes additional does, and bucks pass through. The deer know they are safe from hunting on the property, so they are more frequent in the winter when the hunting season comes around.
