Leave a Comment / Uncategorized / [email protected]

Most headlamps come with several illumination settings. To get the most from my headlamp battery, I use the lowest illumination setting needed to get the job done. I use a Nitecore NU20, which gives me 6 hours at 220 lumen, which is perfect for night hiking. Around camp, I use the lowest setting, 1 lumen […]

The emergency communication feature is the primary reason I got the InReach, and I also use it to let people know my whereabouts, do simple texting, and get weather forecasts. I typically get ten days on a single charge. Turn Off Tracking / Use Extended Tracking Tracking uses

Winter at the Zoo

The horses spent most of their time in the heated barn, only venturing outside for a few hours daily. The Zoo got 100 bales of hay for the winter, so the horses ate fine. Also, don’t mindlessly follow Google directions. Google had people diverting from I-95 through the twisty, winding, hilly roads around the Zoo

Canyonlands – Chesler Park and Lost Canyon

Leave a Comment / Adventures / [email protected]

My spring 2021 trip to Canyonlands National Park was amazing. I went to Horseshoe Canyon and Druid Rock in The Needles district. I enjoyed myself, but I realized Canyonlands has more to see. For this trip to the Needles District in Canyonlands NP, I am going to Chesler Park and Lost Canyon. Some say Chesler
